Versatile Veneers Can Correct All Kinds of Oral Issues

Cosmetic dentistry has come a long way since the wood-and-bone days of old. Through advanced materials and modern dentistry techniques, we can transform your smile into one for the ages, with beautifully white, straight teeth. And one of the most versatile tools in our cosmetic dentistry arsenal are veneers, which not only provide all-new white fronts for your teeth, but also correct a host of dental imperfections.

At Orangecrest Family Dental Practice, under the experienced leadership of Dr. Sheida Mohammadizadeh, we offer a wide range of cosmetic dentistry services because we believe that healthy teeth on the inside should also look good on the outside. If your smile isn’t exuding great health and vitality, here’s how veneers can correct all kinds of oral issues.

A new facade

One of the primary goals of veneers is to provide new facades for your teeth. If staining or yellowing due to age has left your teeth dull and discolored, and teeth whitening isn’t doing the trick, veneers can provide you with the brighter-looking teeth you want.

To give you the best smile possible, we use veneers by Lumineer®. These thin shells cover up old stains and yellowing teeth with a material that mimics your teeth, right down to the translucence of your natural enamel.

And when we say thin, Lumineer veneers are about the same thickness as a contact lens. This means that we don’t have to remove as much enamel from your teeth (if at all) as we would with other veneers. This helps preserve the integrity of your natural teeth, and it also means that you may not need temporary acrylic veneers while we wait for your Lumineers to be custom manufactured.

Speaking of custom manufacturing, Lumineers are digitally designed to fit perfectly over your existing teeth, giving you a natural, seamless look, in addition to a much whiter, brighter smile.

Beyond whitening

While Lumineer veneers can transform the color of your teeth, they also work extremely well for covering up minor imperfections, such as:

By providing your row of teeth with new fronts, we can hide these imperfections behind perfectly natural-looking veneers, and no one will be the wiser.

Getting your Lumineer veneers

Outfitting your teeth with Lumineer veneers is an easy, two-step process. During your first visit, we go over your goals and prep your teeth for the veneers. We may remove some enamel to make room for the new shells, but not as much as traditional veneers, as we mentioned above.

We then take impressions of your teeth, which we send off for custom manufacture. When your Lumineer veneers are ready, you return to our office so that we can bond them into place, making any necessary adjustments along the way to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.

Taking care of your great new smile is no different than the care you normally provide. Brushing twice a day, flossing and rinsing regularly, and keeping up with your professional cleanings will keep your veneers looking great. That said, you may want to protect your investment by avoiding foods and drinks that stain.
